What is a sample mold?

What is a finished mold?
A finished mold refers to a mold that can be mass-produced after the sample shape and assembly structure of the product have been determined.
Why do we need to open a sample mold for silicone products?
First, when we have not yet fully determined the size and structure of a newly developed silicone product, it is best to open a sample mold for proofing and adaptation at this time, to facilitate the modification of the mold caused by the subsequent product size and structure modification.
Second, when the assembly structure of a product has not yet been determined, it is necessary to open a sample mold for proofing at this time, and the purpose is to facilitate the modification of the mold. Because there is no drawing file, when opening the mold, we can only take the sample to copy the data and re-draw the mold according to the copied data. As long as the structure of the silicone product is slightly complex, it is recommended that customers open the sample mold first.
The sample mold of silicone products is mainly convenient for mold modification. The time required for mold opening and modification is much shorter than the time required for mass-production molds. It can also avoid the scrapping of molds due to too many modifications. If it is scrapped, only one set of sample molds will be scrapped, and the cost is much lower than that of mass-production molds.
Opening the sample mold first can effectively reduce the risk of opening the silicone mold, and modifying the sample mold will not have much impact on the mold. If the sample mold is opened first to confirm the size and structure of the product, then in the formal mass production, it only needs to be directly set on the mass production mold according to the design of the sample mold. Open it once, it can effectively reduce the number of modifications to the mass production mold and stabilize the quality of subsequent silicone products.
